WCF Client Timeout Settings

  1. SendTimeout: This is the timeout that specifies how long the client can wait for the transport to complete data writing until throwing exception. It is client side setting. If the request would likely take longer than the default (1 minute), you would need to increase it.
  2. OpenTimeout: How long to wait for the channel to open
  3. CloseTimeout: How long to wait for the channel to close
  4. ReceiveTimeout: Not used

All default to 1 minute 00:01:00.

If there is a timeout you will get a TimoutException.

The documentation on the net is pretty bad on this.
