ColdFusion and WCF with basicHttpBinding

March 9, 2010 Leave a comment

Well I had major trouble getting this working today with another ISV using Cold Fusion. We kept getting the following exception.

The message with Action ” cannot be processed at the receiver, due to a ContractFilter mismatch at the
EndpointDispatcher. This may be because of either a contract mismatch (mismatched Actions between sender and receiver) or a binding/security mismatch between the sender and the receiver. Check that sender and receiver have the same contract and the same binding (including security requirements, e.g. Message, Transport, None)

We added base addresses to the services as follows and it all worked.

<service behaviorConfiguration="acmeServiceBehaviour" name="acme.WebServices.Services.LotService">
        <host>
          <baseAddresses>
            <add baseAddress="http://mail.acme.com.au:6000/WebServices/Services"/>
          </baseAddresses>
        </host>
	<endpoint address="" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="acmeBasicHttpBinding"
          contract="acme.WebServices.Services.ILotService" >
        </endpoint>
        <endpoint address="mex" binding="mexHttpBinding" contract="IMetadataExchange"/>
</service>

Hope this helps.
